Renowned for her work as lead singer for Gentle Mystics, Noémie is a seasoned performer who has consitently captivated and astonished crowds across the globe, from festival stages to street pavements. In 2013 she launches her first solo releases in preparation for her debut album which promises to be as unpredicatbly awe-inspiring as her new live shows suggest.
Singer, songwriter, composer, performer, artiste: Noémie is all of these and so much more. Her unique vocal style is reminiscent of the classic french chansons but imbued with the soulful melancholy of contemporary blues and delivered with a quintessentially English accent (except when she sings in French). Her penchant for the aesthetics of David Lynch, Marc Caro & Jean-Pierre Jeunet trickles through the speakers enveloping the listener in a dark and twisted fairytale that is both haunting and infatuating at the same time.
Noémie's debut video release “Bleedin' Blue” is a dark, industrial neo-blues piece reflecting the tormented thoughts of a heartbroken girl.
Directed by Kent Baker, this video is beautifully shot in the unusual setting of a bathroom, where the track was originally written, 8 years ago. Noemie felt that filming this dark and dilapidated bathroom in such a beautiful light was an accurate analogy for what the song was about — being lead by the beauty of love into a grim corner of the mind.
This year Noémie will be performing solo shows and touring with her beloved band Gentle Mystics. Her upcoming show at Jamboree, East London on May 4th is a chance for people to hear her new works for the first time, followed by shows in Spain, France and the UK. 2013 is set to be a great year for Noémie.
