It features remixes from Gentle Mystics' very own Harky, as well as artists on EMSP - Himbad, Zai Tang and Lucid Mover. Burkules from Molotov Jukebox starts it with a bang. Our beloved GENTLE MYSTICS have returned from the tropical island of La Reunion, just off the coast of Madagscar. The band ventured there to play a show for THE MANAPANY SURF FESTIVAL, Judging by this video it looks like it went down rather well...
We decided to do a little showcase at The Blind Tiger club in Brighton. It was just a little show, but we brought DefDFires, Screaming Soul, Noemie, Cosmo, Death Sound Blues, Rev Wright and Seeds – a hefty chunk of EMSP artists who tore it up in fine style. Screaming Soul enlisted the help of Dub legends Adrian Sherwood and Mutant Hi-Fi to revisit their debut album, creating “a radical re-versioning” - Mojo Magazine. The album was hailed as “one of the freshest, dynamic and brilliantly produced dub albums you'll hear” by Clash Magazine and is available now on CD and Digital Download.
A week ago we had a rather large filthy rave at the EMSP HQ to bid it fairwell. Not completely satisfied however, last night we had the mighty London Sound Painting Orchestra, Noemie, Dr Guss and Colombo Majik captivating a seated audience - and thus we move on in style. They said 'you must fill out these forms and get a license to hold events at Hackney Wicked'. We didn't, but then followed a 20hr rave with 15 of our favourite DJ's keeping the crowd smiling till noon. Hail good vibes.
GENTLE MYSTICS are back from their French conquest tour, all safe and in one piece (or 9 pieces as the case may be). The tour was a great success and in between Parisian street jams, lavatory surgical procedures and wee drinking they even found time to wow a few crowds. Last night saw the Gentle Mystics single launch party in East London. Celebrating the release of spiralling breeze & mushroom 30,000, the band stormed the stage in true chaotic mystical fashion and played a stonking set to a full house, before packing into the bus and setting off to france at 2 in the morning!
